About
Hello. I'm Rafael.
Software developer, husband, dad, and someone who has been quietly obsessed with computers since before it was a career plan. This page is the fuller answer to "so, who are you?"
The person
Curiosity first, everything else followed.
Some people remember the moment they decided what to do with their life. Mine wasn't a decision — it was a computer. From the first one I got my hands on, I wanted to know what was underneath: why it did what it did, and what would happen if I told it to do something else. Programming turned out to be the best answer to that question, and I never found a better one.
These days the center of my life is my family. Being a husband and a dad is the job I care most about getting right, and it has changed how I see the other one. I build fewer things, more deliberately. I care about software that respects the person using it — their time, their attention, their data — because the people I love are users too.
I'm still the person who notices a small everyday friction and immediately starts sketching the tool that would fix it. Most of those sketches stay in a notes file. The best ones become apps you can find on this site.
The work
End to end is the job.
Professionally, I'm a software developer who works across the whole stack — not as a slogan, but because that's what shipping real products demands. Over my career I've built mobile apps, web applications, APIs, and backend platforms; set up and run cloud infrastructure; automated the boring parts; built data pipelines; and integrated AI where it actually made the product better rather than just newer.
The part of the work I value most is judgment: knowing what to build, what to cut, what "done" means for a real user, and what a system will look like two years after launch. Writing the code is the easy half. Deciding what deserves to exist is the hard one.
Alongside professional work, I design, build, and maintain my own apps — released under my own name, with their own support and privacy pages right here. That independent work matters to me. It keeps me honest about the entire lifecycle of a product, because there's no one else to hand it to.
The toolkit
Where I'm useful.
A plain map of the territories I work in — no buzzword soup, just the things I can sit down and do.

Why rafaelrglima.com exists
I wanted one address I could give anyone — a recruiter, a collaborator, a friend of a friend, someone who just downloaded one of my apps — and trust that it tells my story properly. That's this site. It's not a portfolio template or a landing page funnel. It's my corner of the internet, and it holds:
- who I am, in my own words — this page;
- what I do professionally and where my skills run deep;
- the apps I've shipped, with their official support and privacy pages;
- and a straightforward way to reach me.
