The product

Why Bible Characters exists.

Bible Characters is a study and play app about the people of the Bible. Browse 528 people, each with a profile that can include a summary, a story, a curiosity, passages to read and related people, follow a family tree from Adam to Jesus (Luke 3 and Matthew 1), and mark who you already know or love. The "Who am I?" game is made for groups: draw a name, one person describes it, the others guess, and you keep score. The app follows the Protestant canon of 66 books and contains no Bible text; passages open in your browser or Bible app through bible.com links. Portraits are AI-generated illustrations, profiles are written with AI assistance and reviewed, and many full profiles are still coming soon. It works offline and needs no account.

The problem it addresses

The Bible has hundreds of people and it is easy to lose track of who is who and how they connect. Bible Characters gathers them in one offline place, with a family tree and a game, and leaves the reading to the Bible you already trust.

Who it’s for

Anyone who wants to learn about the people of the Bible, from curious readers and students to families, small groups and church classes who like a game.

Questions

About Bible Characters.

What is Bible Characters?

An Android app to browse 528 people of the Bible with profiles, follow a family tree from Adam to Jesus and play a "Who am I?" group game.

Does it contain the Bible text?

No. It shows only chapter references, and opens the passage in your browser or Bible app through a bible.com link when you tap it. It follows the Protestant canon of 66 books.

Why do some people have only a name?

Many full profiles are still coming soon. The list already has 528 people and more profiles are added over time.

How does the Who am I? game work?

Draw a name. One person describes the character without saying the name and the others guess. The app keeps score and your best result.

Are the images and texts made by AI?

The portraits are AI-generated illustrations, not historical images. The profiles and translations were written with AI assistance and reviewed.

Does it need internet or an account?

No. It works offline and has no account. The internet is used only to load the small ad banner and Google's consent form, and to open a passage when you tap a bible.com link.

What data does it collect?

No account and no personal data. The app stores on your device only the characters you marked as known and favorite, your best game score and the app language. With your consent where the law requires it, Firebase Analytics records anonymous usage events (screens and character profiles opened, game events, language changed) linked to a random app-instance id, never what you type or search for. The Google ad SDK may collect device identifiers such as the advertising ID and IP address.

Is it free? Are there ads?

The app is free and shows one small banner ad (Google AdMob) at the bottom of the screen, requested as non-personalised only. Where required, Google's consent form is shown first, and you can change your ad and analytics choice with the Privacy choices link on the screen or in your device's ad settings.

Who is it for?

It is intended for ages 13 and over and is not directed to children.
