Please do not send passwords, payment details or other sensitive personal information. Usage statistics are anonymous and not linked to your identity, so there is nothing to look up for you; a screenshot of the screen concerned is the most useful thing to send.

Common questions

Does the app contain Bible text? No. It contains only chapter references. Tap a passage to open it in your browser or Bible app through a bible.com link.
Why does a person only show a name? Many full profiles are still "coming soon". The app already lists 528 people, and more profiles with summary, story, curiosity and passages are being added over time.
How does the "Who am I?" game work? Draw a name. One person sees it and describes the character without saying the name, and the others guess. Score the round and try to beat your best score, which is saved on your device.
Where are my "known" and "favorite" marks stored? Only on your device. They are not sent anywhere, so uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes them.
Does it need an internet connection or an account? No. The app works offline and has no account. The internet is used only to load the small ad banner and Google's consent form, and to open a passage when you tap a bible.com link.
How do I change the language? Open the language screen in the app and choose one of the 34 languages. Some texts, such as a few profiles and book names, may still appear in English while their translation is not ready.
Does the app collect usage data? Only anonymous usage statistics (Firebase Analytics), such as which screens and character profiles are opened and game events, linked to a random app-instance id. It never records what you type or search for, or personal data, and it runs only after your consent where the law requires it. See the privacy policy for the full list.
How do I change my ad and analytics choice? Where the law requires consent, a "Privacy choices" link is shown on the screen; ads and analytics follow the same choice. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings under Google, then Ads.

Translations and content

The app is available in 34 languages. The translations and the profile texts were prepared with AI assistance and reviewed, and the portraits are AI-generated illustrations. If a word, sentence or fact can be better, write to the address above with the person, the language and your suggestion.

Privacy requests

For a privacy question or request, use the subject Bible Characters privacy request. The privacy policy explains what the optional ads and the anonymous usage statistics (Firebase Analytics) collect. Because analytics events are linked only to a random identifier, we usually cannot link them to you.

Response time

Bible Characters is maintained by an independent developer. Messages are read directly and answered as soon as reasonably possible.
