Privacy Policy — Bible Memory: Match & Discover

App: Bible Memory: Match & Discover Package: com.rafaelrglima.biblememory Data controller: Rafael Lima, rafaelrglima@gmail.com Effective date: 2026-10-14

1. Summary

  • The app works offline. There is no account, no sign-up and no server operated by the developer.
  • The developer does not collect your name, e-mail, contacts or any personal data.
  • The app stores your progress only on your device: the cards you have discovered, the board size you chose, how many boards you have completed and the app language.
  • The app shows one small ad banner (Google AdMob) at the bottom of the screen. Where the law requires it, Google's consent form is shown first. Ads are requested as non-personalised only.
  • Ads and anonymous usage statistics (Firebase Analytics) run only after your consent where the law requires it, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings.
  • Analytics never include anything you type or personal data. Your data is not sold.
  • The Share feature creates a picture of your result only when you tap Share, and only you decide where it goes.
  • The app is intended for ages 13 and over and is not directed to children.

2. Scope

This policy explains how information is handled when you use the Bible Memory: Match & Discover Android app, contact support, or visit the app's pages on rafaelrglima.com. Use of the website itself is also subject to the website privacy policy.

3. What the app does, and what it stores

Bible Memory is a card-matching game. You choose a board of 3 to 12 pairs, turn the cards and find the pairs. When a board is complete, a discovery screen shows each moment you matched: an original illustration of the life of Jesus (Gospel of Matthew), its name, its chapter and one short fact. The 149 cards, their artwork and their facts are bundled in the app, so it works offline. The app contains no Bible text, only chapter references.

The app stores the following only on your device, in a small progress file in the app's private storage: the cards you have discovered, the number of pairs you last chose, how many boards you have completed, and whether the app has already asked you to rate it. Your chosen app language is also kept on your device. This information is not sent to the developer or to any server, and the developer cannot see it. Removing it is done by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app in your Android settings. Your device or Android may back up app data under your own device settings, which is outside the developer's control.

The app has no account, no cloud backup of its own and no server.

4. Information the app does not collect

The developer does not receive or store your name, e-mail address, contacts, photos, precise location, device sensor data, your progress, or anything you type or choose in the app. The app has no chat or social features. The only usage information is the anonymous statistics described in section 7.2, sent only as permitted by your consent choice.

5. Sharing a picture of your result

On the discovery screen you can tap Share. Only then does the app create an image on your device (a collage of the artwork from that board, a headline with the number of pairs you matched, one fact, the app name and a link to the app's Google Play page) and open the standard Android share sheet. You choose the app or person that receives the picture; the developer does not receive it and does not know whether or with whom you shared it. The image is kept in the app's temporary cache on your device only so the share can complete. If you never tap Share, no picture is created.

6. Links that leave the app

Settings contains links that open other apps only when you tap them: Send feedback opens your e-mail app with a message addressed to rafaelrglima@gmail.com; Website opens rafaelrglima.com in your browser; More apps and Rate this app open Google Play. Those apps and services handle your data under their own privacy policies.

7. Third-party services (Google)

The app needs the internet only for these Google components:

  • Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob), which shows the ad banner
  • Google User Messaging Platform (UMP), which shows the consent form
  • Firebase Analytics (anonymous usage statistics)
  • Google Play in-app review and in-app update, which let you rate the app and update it without leaving it

7.1 Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app shows one small adaptive banner ad anchored at the bottom of the screen. There are no full-screen ads and no rewarded ads. Ads are requested as non-personalised only, and the app is not directed to children. Even so, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and use data such as your device's advertising ID, your IP address (and the approximate location derived from it) and ad interaction data, to deliver and measure ads, limit ad frequency and prevent fraud, as described in Google's advertising policy. This data is processed by Google; the developer does not receive it as personal data about you.

7.2 Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics)

To improve the app we record anonymous events: when a board is started, completed or left (with the number of pairs, the number of moves, the time taken and roughly how far the board was), which discovery pages are viewed (the Matthew chapter only), when Share is tapped and when a share is completed (the number of pairs only), when the language is changed, when the privacy choices, the website or the feedback e-mail are opened, when the consent form or the rating prompt is shown, and when an ad fails to load (the error code). Technical data such as the app version, device model and operating system, and an approximate location derived from your IP address, are recorded with each event. Events are linked to a random app-instance identifier. We never send anything you type, your e-mail address or personal data to analytics. Firebase Analytics is not used for ad personalization. Analytics data is retained for 14 months and is processed by Google as described in Google's privacy information.

7.3 Consent (Google UMP)

Where the law requires consent (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the app shows Google's consent form, and ads and Firebase Analytics run only after you consent. Returning users see the form when the app starts; new users see it on the first discovery screen, after their first board. Where consent is not required, ads and analytics run under that local rule.

7.4 How to change your choices

  • In the app, open Settings and tap Privacy choices (shown where consent is required) to open the consent form again and change your choice. Analytics follows the same choice.
  • On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalisation, in your device settings under Google, then Ads.

8. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)

For ads and analytics, the legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time without affecting earlier processing. For handling support emails, it is our legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f)).

9. Retention

  • The app keeps nothing about you on any server of the developer.
  • The progress and language stored on your device stay until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
  • A shared picture stays in the app's temporary cache until Android or the app clears it; the copy you shared is kept by the app or person you sent it to.
  • Firebase Analytics data is retained for 14 months.
  • Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to answer you and for security or legal obligations.
  • Data processed by Google is kept under Google's own policies.

10. Your rights and how to exercise them

Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Brazil's LGPD and similar laws, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent and to complain to a data protection authority. Your progress is on your device, so you can access and delete it yourself by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it. To change or withdraw your consent for ads and analytics, use the choices in section 7.4. Because analytics events are linked only to a random identifier and not to your identity, we usually cannot link them to you. For any request, email rafaelrglima@gmail.com and we will help as far as the law and the available data allow.

11. Sharing and sale of data

Your data is not sold. The only third party that receives data is Google (AdMob, UMP, Firebase Analytics and Google Play), as described above and only as permitted by your consent choice. Google may process data outside your country under its own safeguards. Google Play and your device manufacturer may independently process installation and diagnostic information under their own policies.

12. Children

The app is intended for ages 13 and over and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has used the app and you have a concern, contact us and we will help.

13. Security

Nothing about you is transmitted to a developer server, because the app has none. The progress stored on your device is protected by Android's app sandbox. Keep your device updated and locked.

14. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if the app's features or data practices change. The current version and its effective date remain available on this page.

15. Contact
